Sweet Mama's Kitchen

Passion is a very powerful expression and Im passionate about fueling the soul as much as i am the body. Whether expressed through cooking, travel, writing, nature bathing, or living my inner child. Food is by far one of my favorite pastimes! I love the togetherness of sharing a meal with loved ones, when we think of kai its usually the heart of any gathering.
I love making people happy with kai its fundamental to the very reason i do it! My style "Soulfood" home cooked goodness that oozes flavor, substance, and depth. My one year old is gluten and dairy free so i experiment with trial and error, self taught i am the ultimate "freestyle cook". My blog is a waka in which to share my stories, thoughts, inspirations and evolution as a mother, daughter, sister and servant. Welcome to sweet mama's kitchen.

We hosted a community forum on gun violence and public safety at the library today. Our five-member panel included the police commissioner, two community organizers, a pastor and author of a theological critique of guns in America, and a neighborhood youth and spoken word artist. An anchor from our local PBS affiliate moderated. It was an honest and open discussion, and it was so moving to see the library transform into the kind of space where this type of conversation could happen.

Inspiring use of library space. Nice work, Jeff.
